Our Vision
The current watchmaking market is defined almost exclusively by Swiss, German and Japanese companies.
We want to bring new life to the watchmaking market, in the form of a watch built in Scotland, by the people of Scotland. To implement the elements of Scottish tradition into the heart of our brand. Our goal is to have our watches on the wrists of those who will wear them proudly, as a symbol of Scottish Heritage.
We endeavour to bring Scotland to the global table of watchmaking, rooted in its history of clockmaking and engineering. Our long-term aim is to design and engineer a mechanical movement from the ground up, not just for Kelvin, but for other brands also, to redefine the established grip of luxury watch movements.
Our watches are built to tell more than just the time.
Design Philosophy

Watchmaking

Glasgow"
Our Story
Growing up along the River Kelvin in Glasgow, these elements followed me wherever I went. As I grew older, I developed a passion for watches and their designs, stories and what they represented.
During my first year at university, an idea sparked in my mind, a watch inspired by Scotland. Just a German watches had Bauhaus design, Swiss watches illustrated luxury and Japanese watches embodied engineering, my watches could represent Scottish Tradition.
I decided to experiment with tartan fabric as a watch dial. After many failed attempts, I managed to cut the fabric down to the correct dimensions. The issue was forcing the delicate fabric into a structure that needed strength. I went through many iterations until I finally managed to get one dial sturdy enough.
Once I had my dial, I began building a watch, I had broken my seconds hand and my spare as I put the watch together for the first time. After many hours of frustration and fighting pieces into their position, I screwed on the caseback and flipped over the watch. I smiled from ear to ear looking at what I had created, the first Kelvin watch with the beautiful Tartan Dial staring back at me.
These elements inspired our design philosophy. Scotland has a forgotten history in clockmaking and our ambition is to revitalise that by building a home for Scottish Watchmaking right here in Glasgow, using authentic local sourced materials.
